Strength & Muscle Training
Working with weights will help maintain a healthy balanced body free from pain associated with imbalances, postural problems and joint pain. Few of us acheive the level of activity necessary for averall good health and well being.
The prime function of your muscle is reflected by its strength - changing chemical energy into mechanical energy which generates force, performance to work and producing movement. Muscle tissue also stabalises the body's position, regulates organ volume, genarates heat and propels fluids and food matter through the bodies various systems.
Muscle consists of individual muscle fibres bundled together and surrounded by three connective tissue layers. Muscles are connected to the bone by tendons, bones are connected by ligaments. Both of these are found in joints and are strengthened by weight training.
The best way to train your muscles is to overload them with resistance. Pushing a muscle past its limit makes it work hard, tearing the fibres, slightly. However, within 48 hours it is healed and stronger. Diet and nutritional supplements can assist this process.
During muscle contractions there is an increase in oxygen and blood flow, both enhancing oxygen delivery to the muscle's tissue. For a short time, after muscle contraction has stopped oxygen supplies are still being renewed. Oxygen levels are vital to the repair and renewal of muscle tissues and their cells.
When a muscle fails to contract after prolonged exercise this is known as "muscle fatigue". Muscle fatigue is the result of changes within the muscle's fibres. Even before muscle fatigue begins you can begin to feel tired and wish to stop.
Weight Training for Women
More and more women are using weights as an exercise to enhance their femine curves. Using weights helps you to feel stronger, younger, more energetic and also helps to boosts your self confidence. Apart from the cosmetic benefits there are real health advantages to using weights. Over the past years more and more studies have proved that strength training combined with a balanced diet and good nutrition produces many health and fitness benefits.

- Muscle's are the key to scuplting shape, definition and body tone. Curves are toned muscle.
You can develop muscle tone and definition with any exercise, however, the firmer you want to be the greater you must work using specific exercises to target key muscles. Muscle definition can be harder to achieve for some people because it depends on body fat levels. The leaner you are the more scuplted your muscles will appear because less fat is filling your curves. Weight training combined with the correct nutrition and diet can target a specific body area which other exercise's cannot reach.
